Always enjoyed good Brazilian and Argentinian beef! :-)

Do you have any fundamental sense of the coffee market in Brazil? Saw a report and will PM later or over weekend then you can post if you want but it basically said coffee is the next cocoa. And it was a secular argument not seasonal.

Coffee's demand is somewhat inelastic. Brazil's and other stockpiles are historically low, and Brazil recently emphasized maintaining a steady supply for its domestic market. Overall acreage is not increasing because due to volatility in growing seasons, some farmers are shifting to other more reliable crops. While it doesn't take as long as cocoa/cacao trees to bear fruit, there is still a gestation period of 3-5 years versus 5-10 for cocoa/cacao. On an inflation adjusted basis coffee has yet to surpass its 1970s historic highs.
