I disagree about joined at the hip, this is exaggerated commonly I feel....

Glass maker for ferrari went bankrupt, a huge company I believe, a beat was not missed, companies want ferrari business etc

Yes when spd was in no cars it was more of a "joined at the hip"...This is not the case now, SPD is not going away, it is a big success in Ferrari now too along in Cadillac and Mclarens....

Making SPD is not that hard I feel, it is one machine in Gernany now as far as I can tell, it is a sheet of plastic with goo...making the roof and laminating the plastic sheet film in glass with and electrical supply to it is much tougher and billion dollar companies do this...Nobody was making it because no market, no money to be made...Smart glass now growing in cars and everyone knows this.

Gauzy is a bus camera and airplane yellow tint on window company. SPD is growth hope for them but not what the business is, even their pdlc is minimal....

SPD will be around, GM, Ferrari, Mclaren use it...It will be made by one machine by somebody...I hope it is Gauzy always and they reap the rewards when SPD grows big....But i don't fret about the the "joined at hip" stuff...SPD best smart glass tech, now used by big automakers, smartglass growing in autos...Refr is very stable financially, not going anywhere, not like tons of reevenue coming or needed for short term via Guazy to sustain a big cash burn from refr, this is not the case..1 mil a year loss is essentially break even..Gauzy losing what 40 mil or more, a ballpark guess...different sutuations, different companies.
