The firm that writes the Giants game scripts, La Cosa Nostradamus, outdid themselves today. The started off with a flea-flicker TD on the first drive, then followed that up with a TD pass to the QB. For the first time in five years, the Giants led by 10+ points after the first quarter.
I mean, everyone knew the Giants would blow the game in the fourth quarter, but the intrigue in this particular game was very well built up. Kudos to the underbosses here.
At fourth and goal on the three and up six with just over two minutes left, the Giants could have done what 99% of teams in the history of the NFL have done: kick the field goal. Ha! But elite 1%ers like the Giants know it's go big or go home... and the Giants were far from home and all the boos, so the choice was easy.
As I've documented before, when you hear how a team kicked a miracle career long FG to win, you know their opponent was the Giants. But this one just tied the game. OT had to be just as disappointing for Giants fans. I'd say giving up an immediate long TD run then driving all the way down the field and losing via a third and seven run followed by a sack was about as pathetic as befits the Giants.
