And that is the math I am telling you.
Businesses have lobbies to reduce their taxes. The bigger they are, the stronger their lobby to rig the game to their benefit.
The rest of the people don' have a lobby.
So you pay for the police, but they end up protecting only the big business.
You pay for the military, but its main purpose is to protect the interests of multinational businesses.
The list goes on.
If it was a fair system, you'd pay for what you used and the government would be there only for the unmet needs of the common people.
I don't have an unmet need in Japan or the Philippines or for much what the government spends on. So do I care about some overpaid bureaucrat? Yes, it would be nice if he wasn't overpaid. But as Peter Drucker observed, there is nothing so inefficient as to spend time and money to improve the efficiency of something that you should not be doing in the first place.
