This gives new meaning to Trump’s initiative of recruiting 40K scientists and engineers to recapture our standing in computing and AI. To me, it’s interesting that this follows the scenario (and, even the terminology) advised by David Goldman - as I recall, at least a dozen of years ago - and it’s happening while he’s a senior advisor for policy in the Trump admin. This sounds like it may outdate all of the sophisticated chips in existence today - all at once. It’s something that needs to be addressed immediately - and with great energy.
