| | | I'd love to know whether the above is similar in the US. But the young people are drinking less narrative - so far - is proving to be true imo. And I didn't take it seriously enough when I first read about it. It's just very, very hard to prove in the data.
Yes, this is true in the US as well. Young people drink less (especially Gen Z) , they are more into weed. however, there are some studies that indicate that this may be mean reversing a bit.
I drink personally but don’t get drink. I enjoy 2 pints of craft beer when going out or wine at home. When I went to the gym in group in the evening, we alway had a beer afterwards. So, I am not sure about the mutually exclusive thing.
whether people drink in bars or at home does not matter that much for the booze companies. I do think that drinking at home versus going out changes to what they drink (less ingredients for fancy cocktails , more whiskey/bourbon or ready to drink.
FWIW, it’s easy to make a decent Margarita with Tequila ( Cuervo Traditional 100% Agave ~$23/ bottle), Cointreau, squeezed lime and use a low sugar lemonade (from Trader Joe). You can make it as strong or light as you want. Costs is less than a $ a drink.
I think the weed thing being popular may mean revert too as it becoming clear that this stuff isn’t to healthy either. |
