All sorts of extreme weather alerts have been issued for large swathes of eastern Canada,due to predicted snowfalls of up to 60 cm and winds of up to 90 kph. It's a good thing we got our Thanksgiving out of the way 6 weeks ago, because you wouldn't want to be travelling today.

And Environment Canada has adopted a new colour coded alert system similar ro that used in a number of other countries.

You can see how it works on the map linked below, with the yellow areas deemed Hazardous and the orange ones Severe. Fortunately there are currently no red Very Dangerous areas.
