I think many countries in Europe are in trouble from an energy perspective. Maybe France is not as bad because of their domestic nuclear industry but they have other economic and political headwinds. What the UK and Germany have done amounts to unforced self-inflicted wounds, imo. Germany is in now in industrial decline due to its energy policy malfeasance while not so long ago it was one of the most efficient and productive industrial countries in the western world.
