From analyst Adam Hamilton's private newsletter as of late yesterday:

"If this was just one CoT, I’d be skeptical it wasn’t righteous with some gold-futures activity not reported or pushed into adjacent CoT weeks. But three in a row can’t be dismissed. And gold still hadn’t sold off more than 9.5% at worst since fully three weeks earlier. At that point its high consolidation was five weeks old. If gold drifts sideways on balance out of a major topping for six-plus weeks, the likelihood of a worse drawdown wanes. That means we can start redeploying in great gold stocks sooner."

AH does not specifically address yesterday's surprising surge in the price of gold, but his closing sentence in the paragraph above suggests what he thinks may be the near term for the price of gold.

From AH's public newsletter as of yesterday...

"The bottom line is all investors need to have sizable gold allocations."

I have been a follower of AH for over twenty years, and recommend others read his opinions as well. His free newsletter is about as good as the one offered by subscription, just lacking a lot of the detail surrounding mostly fundamental analysis.

As to the Web site that hosts his free newsletter, I do not endorse much of what appears there. Use you own judgement.
