I should have clarified....I meant that if the option is just a bit in the money at expiration, better to have closed it out just before to avoid any risk at assignment...did not mean selling them just before expiration.......but if assigned..... for me....better to lose the called shares and some opportunity profit than get put the shares which could be severely depressed when I get them....just a different feeling I guess.....but these days....seems harder for a stock to recover from bad news than drop back after good news

....really no reason to dick around with stock options now
....have over 100% gains in my gold buy / silver buys / senior miners / junior miner / and 15% already in my
gold mutual fund......and seems like things are just getting started
....sold far out of the money AMD calls and got wacked
