Last year's super-long transition from El-Nino, which ended in April 2024, and La-Nina, which started in December 2024, may have had something to do with things last fall. I double checked, and LaNina only ran from Dec. 2024 to March 2025, so we've been neutral for 9-months. That should make the winter weather closer to the norm for most of the US.
