simon: for a ROFL experience check out the yahoo msg board on SIEB. the thread is filled with idiots trying to short the stock.
If you owned a brokerage and wanted to make the hugest fortune, you would take your company public as a microcap as small as possible while keeping a third or so of the shares for yourself, add internet functionality, build up the company over a few years, split the stock a few times so momentum players would get at it, buy up the brokerage of William J O'Neill of IBD so you'd have lots of really rich influential people buying up shares of the itty bitty company. And then you'd sell if off to a bank for 10 times what it was worth and retire with a s**t-eating grin on your face. Just exactly what Muriel Siebert did. Idiots with internet access will keep Wall Street rolling in dough for decades...could it be that the internet was the best thing that ever happened to wall street???
