BREAKING: Trump nukes his midterm chances by announcing that "affordability" is a "con job" by Democrats that "doesn't mean anything" as Americans struggle to even afford groceries.

From inside his gold-plated Oval Office, everything looks just peachy keen...

"I mean these are the facts we have to get out and you know there's this fake narrative that the Democrats talk about 'affordability,'" said Trump at a Cabinet meeting. "They just say the word it doesn't mean anything to anybody. You just say it. Affordability."

Th word "affordability" got lodged into Trump's rotting brain when New York City Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani won a historic election by running on a promise to improve affordability in the city. The day after his victory, Trump took to Truth Social to declare that "AFFORDABILITY is a Republican Stronghold."

Since that false message failed to find purchase for Trump (unsurprising since his tariffs have skyrocketed the price of everything), he's now pretending that "affordability" is a meaningless made up word. Of course, to a man who inherited $413 million from his father, affordability really is meaningless. His life of profound privilege has insulated him from the concerns of average working Americans.

"I inherited the worst inflation in history," Trump continued in his rant. "There was no affordability. Nobody could afford anything. The prices were massively high. Do you remember we took over— Eggs, you did a great job in that. Madam Secretary. Agriculture. Brooke."

"Uh, eggs were four, five times higher than they had ever been. They said don't order eggs for Easter at the White House," he rambled on. "And we ended up doing it and we got the egg prices way down lower than what they were before but the word 'affordability' is a con job by the Democrats. They say afford— I watched the other day where some very low IQ congresswoman talked about 'affordability, affordability, affordability." She had no idea. Their prices were much higher!"

In reality, a Fox News poll last month revealed that 85% of Americans said that they're paying more for groceries than they were last year. Four in five said that utilities have gone up and two-thirds saw a spike in healthcare and housing costs.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the first nine months of Trump's second term have seen a sharp increase in prices. Beef went up by 13%, oranges by 15%, electricity by 7%, and gasoline by 6%. Trump's disastrous policies are hitting Americans right in their wallets. He can stick his head in the sand and deny it, but when the elections roll around he's going to pay a steep price for his delusions.
