back when i was in the business. decades ago. diesel was blended with kerosene and heating oil . it depended on what type of diesel , diesel medium and diesel special. there wasn't enough diesel business to warrant storage at terminals or for the refineries to blend it. we elimated storage of diesel and converted the storage to other products. in north east we converted to heating oil since most heating back then was heating oil and in the winter the pipe lines (colonial) was full and couldn't keep up with demand. Hence you had to ship it by tanker much more costly. About $2.00 a bbl more.
