FWIW, here’s what I’m looking at now for a possible short-term preferred wave count on the S&P. While most counts I’ve seen have the ATH as a wave 3 top and the 11/21 low as a wave-4 bottom (still possible), with the technical sell signals I’m finally starting to see now, I’m thinking the 11/21 low may have just been wave a of 4. If that’s right, and we see what would be a b-wave top over the next several trading days (Fed rate-cut blow-off top? New ATH??), that would start a wave-c-of-4 selloff, possibly into the beginning of January, before the new-year inflows help give us the final wave-5 push. All very speculative, of course.
