His point is irrelevant. Anyone can talk about anything at any point in time.

Bottom line is that there is no push to rename American football to something else.

In fact, there is more of a push to spread American football to other countries. Plenty of NFL games are being played in Europe, for example. Goodell is even talking about having an NFL game in Australia of all places.

Am I to believe that, for example, Texans are willing to call football something else? The home of Friday Night Lights? That would be sacrilege on the level of denying the virgin birth.
