I agree. I'd stay short say 3 months to 2 years. My thought for delaying taxes with strip zeros is for the years we have large capital gains (like this one) we can use some of the taxable cash in money market funds in CDs to buy treasury strips that mature the next year. Of course, if you are already in the top bracket for IRMAA and Fed tax and plan to be there for the next year or two, then skip that idea.
