I saw that, or rather a summary of it, and I pretty much agree with the critique of it.
The Trump policy is basically the Monroe Doctrine 2.0, extended to Europe from the South America.

In more basic terms, America is an aging empire facing late stage empire problems. Think of it as a superstar who is not in his late 50s or early 60s and is not ready to sail off into the sunset and wants to reclaim his glory days. This is what MAGA is all about psychologically.

The problem is that this is not how world works. We all age and we all get humbled. We can learn to be leaner and eat healthier and workout. But we cannot stop the ravages of time. Which is what Trump is trying to do. It will have the same consequences for America as buying muscle car and buttoning down to go to a dive bar has for an old geezer. Any chick you pickup from there is not worth what you paid for.
