The fact that you've been invested in a company for a few years isn't reason enough to continue in the investment. The problem with many investors and traders is that they get attached to a stock (emotionally or otherwise) and don't see that the reasons why they bought the stock in the first place are no longer valid (or worse yet, didn't even have valid reasons for entering the trade).
So what I am saying is that you should have valid and rational reasons for holding the stock at any given time. If those reasons are no longer valid then you must reevaluate your position. Don't let the length of your investment (or the promise of future rewards) keep you from making the right decision. And don't kid yourself into thinking that you should continue to hold because you feel a sense of loyalty since loyalty is not rewarded in the stock market.
Okay, I'll admit that that is easier said than done. However, I've been saying this over and over again, and each time I say it, it helps me to come to my senses and realize that my reasons for holding were no longer valid. Maybe I'm just doing this as a catharsis, but I'd like to think that others will also benefit from this line of thinking.
I have no ill feelings towards BCMD (it is just a stock like any other stock which presents an opportunity at one time or another). There was a window of opportunity at one time and I had failed to take advantage of it. The window closed and I was left holding the stock on promises and emotional baggage (yes, I felt cheated). Anyway, I'd like to believe that I've learned from this experience and won't repeat it again.
Now with that off my chest, I can now sell most of my shares (yes, I'll keep a small position just so that I'll stay on top of it). I know that I can recoup at least some of my losses by trading in other stocks as there are many opportunities out there right now. But I'll be watching, and if BCMD presents the best opportunity at some future time then I'll be ready to capitalize on it.
Okay, enough said, now back to your regularly scheduled programming...
