Doesn't this write-up by Wasserstein Perella imply that there is a new investment banking relationship in the offering, ie. away from Smith Barney ( now Salomon SB ) who did the convertible in the fall of 1996 around $22, and this explains the total lack of attention by SSB, and hence the very low activity, until just a few days ago ?
WP is all about deal making, and is very unlikely to give much support
in the stock market for the company, but then Chuck Riley has always struck me as being interested in building by deals.
