Skiing here is dangerous. Mauna Kea weather is harsh and snow quickly ices over. Dingbats go up there and start down the mountain and quickly find out two things: the snow isn't that deep and it's really, really hard to stop on ice on a really, really steep slope with howling wind and not much oxygen. we get some serious accidents there.
