Excellent, thank you.

Been taking fish oil supplements for many, many years, at least 20, perhaps more. In the quantities Dr. Davis suggests, or more. I also have regularly done heavy aerobic exercise all my life.

I have an aortic valve issue. Recently, I underwent a traditional angiogram in preparation for a transaortic valve replacement. As I understand it, the procedure is done to make sure no coronary artery issues existed which would complicate the valve replacement. Result: fabulous. Coronary artery system clean as a whistle. I am sure the fish oil is responsible for this nice result along with the exercise. It would be nice to be able to determine which is more significant. But the message is clear: if you won’t or can’t perform aerobic exercise, take the fish oil. But do both if you can.

Incidentally, the angiogram also showed that I don’t yet meet the guidelines for the valve replacement. The valve is calcium-heavy. I don’t understand why the fish oil and exercise seem to have protected the coronary arteries but not the aortic valve. Not a big deal since the valve replacement is now a very simple 15 minute procedure. But a reasonable question nonetheless.
