Tenchusatsu,

"but I'm still waiting for you to explain how you tell the difference between the supposedly secular "Persians" and the "Iranian Muslims."

How long have you been waiting?

You’re the one insisting on lumping everyone together.

There are 138 ethnic groups in Iran and a long history of Zoroastrian, Kurdish, Azeri, Armenian, Assyrian, Baloch, and secular Persian identity that existed millennia before Islam arrived.

Pretending that “Iranian = Muslim” is exactly the kind of reductionist thinking that fuels ignorance and bad policy.

Criticism of the Islamic Republic, a theocratic regime, is not the same as hatred of the Iranian people, many of whom risk imprisonment or death fighting that regime.

If you genuinely care about freedom, you should be able to recognize that difference.

It’s perfectly possible to oppose a government or an ideology without condemning entire peoples or cultures.

If you can’t tell those apart, that’s not a problem with MAGA, or with “algorithms.”

That’s a problem with how narrowly you’re choosing to see the world.
