From Bloomberg:

Investors and market watchers await the Federal Reserve’s final monetary decision of the year, due today. The central bank is widely expected to cut interest rates by a quarter point but the big question is what happens next year. Concerns around lingering inflation have generated a deep division within the Fed, likely preventing Chair Jerome Powell from signaling further moves. That may foreshadow the difficult tests that lie ahead for his successor. Powell’s term as chair ends in May and Kevin Hassett, Donald Trump’s National Economic Council director, is seen as the frontrunner.
