There are major similarities between this current trend and the dot-com bubble .

Well, there are also major differences. The dot com bubble had lots of companies that were like apps, services, they were going to sell something related to the new internet thing, and of course 90% of them flopped. Pets.com was the poster child.

The AI explosion doesn't even have apps yet! The big boy tech firms and sovereign nations and massive global enterprises are all building these massive AI data centers, but we normal people don't have a clue what they're going to do with these data centers. The spending is real, but what do the decision makers of this spending see in the future being accomplished with their new AI data center? I don't know. We haven't yet even got these overvalued stocks of companies selling AI services to anyone, we just have the cash rich dominant enterprises and entities spending their money to build processing power which some day down the road will (or will not?) turn into a sellable service.

The AI bubble part probably hasn't even begun yet. When some stock IPOs with a $100 billion valuation and a service that uses AI to ....... find you a new mate! ..... make you happier! .... improve your investment portfolio's performance by 500% per year!! then we'll be in the AI bubble.

For the time being, we're still getting ready for that bubble phase to be able to operate, because, you know, doing all that stuff requires more faster processing power.
