We might not need a new investigation, just a timeline.

Claim 1: Omar married her brother to gain citizenship
Claim 2: Omar married her brother so he could gain citizenship.

Facts:
Omar came to the US as a refugee in 1995.
Omar became a naturalized US citizen in 2000.
Omar married Elmi (a British citizen who is accused of being her brother) in 2009.
Omar divorced Elmi in 2017. Elmi returned to England in 2011 without applying for US citizenship.
Omar married Mynett, a US citizen, in 2020.

Evidence that both claims above are a hoax...
1. The timeline above is verified by public records.
2. Immigration law permits sibling sponsorship (i.e., no need for marriage)
3. The accusation surfaced in 2016 and had been investigated by the Trump administration.

Evidence that the claims are not a hoax...
1. Omar has not filed a defamation suit against anyone for repeating it.
