Re. Garden snakes are harmless and beneficial to the environment

Please reconsider your non lethal options

Agree and once I learned they were harmless, I don't mind them out in the yard or on the trail. While back I was mowing my backyard and heard a loud hissing noise, looked down and there was a fairly large black garden snake all coiled up. It was just letting me know 'hey, I'm here, don't run over me'. So, I just went around it. I haven't seen one in the backyard in a while, probably because my dog is a hunter. Though, on the trails, I see them often when sun is out. They are very shy and move quickly out of the way.
