US September trade deficit lowest in more than five years as goods exports soar finance.yahoo.com An overly simple rule of thumb concludes that countries that don't make things go broke. The opposite is also true. Manufacturing with surpluses for export can lead to growth, and excess exports over imports grow wealth. Let's hope the above news becomes a sustainable trend, and that the US uses the benefits of such to pay down public debt in a meaningful way.
