Paul, I have come to the same conclusion but there is a caveat and that is our fear to loose gains. I maintain a separate personal portfolio where I hardly or rarely trade. Example in that portfolio are Disney,Merck,Lucent,Baxter,UTX,ATT,AOL,and DELL. I think I made only 3 trades in that portfolio. The reason is I feel very confident over the long term about these stocks. Some of these I bought 5 to 6 years back. The problem (not a good choice) with y2k stocks is that they are are influenced by minor blips on their radar screen such as a minor contract. Look at IMRS went to 20 from 36, we were lucky it went back up but look at ALYD it is still in swamp. SO lets thank our fortunes in picking good y2k stocks and I am happy with my gains and uncle Sam is too. In hindsight I also think that I should have kept my IMRS etc. Good luck with your strategy.
