Did they win really or simply maintain the status quo? Was it smart business? Seems to me that getting a reputation as a a settlor only led to more lawsuits and depressed stock price for decades. I get having to pay fines for government extortion. You are correct about ARM. Perhaps Qualcomm needs to see this to the end and inflict maximum pain on them. Only then will companies start to think twice about screwing with Q’s business. Of course lawyers want settlements as they love to foster and proliferate litigation.
