Markets are getting whacked as the morning wears on. While gold, silver, and mining stocks were higher earlier, they are falling now. I suspect this is related to margin calls on tech stocks that seem to be losing favor suddenly after having run too far too quickly, while also being flooded with new competition.

Note that the tech heavy Nasdaq is off about two percent at the moment.
