AAPL had sourced a modem from Intel - that was furiously substandard - they were selling a premium product with a substandard modem - throttling QCOM modem back to not show the significant difference

AAPL needed QCOM - QCOM needed AAPL - the deal made sense - ended multiple other jurisdictions from coming after the qCOM model - so while not ideal or perfect - it made good business sense for QCOM

This time around when AAPL comes back - I suspect QCOM will have a different approach
