If you INSIST on using this kind of pseudo load balancing,
at least provide a page for the button that doesn't take ages
to load - i.e. No graphics, no java, just a button. PLEASE!

Good idea - a page with just one button (or two?) on it.

If you get tired of waiting, you can do this yourself you know.
I did it with the banner-covered, slow downloading QuickQuotes
page of one of the free delayed quote services. Namely,
in Netscape, I pulled down the View/Document Source menu, saved
a copy of the HTML code to my local hard disk, edited out all
the banner ads and other crap - leaving only the part which gets
and displays the quotes - and added a bookmark to the local file.
Instead of http://... you have file://... Works great. I haven't
tried it with Datek yet, and it probably can't be done for just
any page, but I bet it COULD be done to get just a login button.

That's the beauty of HTML - no matter how complicated it is, it
works only because it is sent to your computer and interpreted
by your browser locally. So you can always look at it.
