In short, Russell Bentley was an American who ran afoul of the law, escaped to RuZZia to try and become a RuZZian citizen, and joined PooTin's three day war of choice thinking this would give him the fast track toward citizenship.
However, Bentley got bent. Literally. He was mistaken for a NATO spy by his comrades and ended up getting captured, tortured, raped, and killed by them. Then they tried to cover up their crimes.

Although, the funny thing is that the RuZZians who were convicted and are now serving jail time for their crimes could probably be sent back out to the front lines, all because RuZZia continues to recruit cannon fodder from their prison population.
In the end, let this be a lesson to all foreigners who want to become RuZZian citizens. You are generally NOT welcome there. RuZZia isn't a very friendly place to those who aren't ethnically Russian. Your circumstances need to be extremely dire, like North Koreans, if you think you have a bright future in RuZZia.
