I like your idea of tradable citizenship, and I’ve probably thought about it in more depth than you might expect. For example, suppose I wanted to trade my Canadian citizenship for Somali citizenship. Would such a trade have to be one-for-one, or could citizenship be exchanged for citizenship plus cash? Could I trade a single Canadian citizenship for multiple Somali citizenships?

A global citizenship exchange mechanism among participating countries would be the first issue that would need to be worked out.
