The central component of BrainPack involves the most capable embedded processing units available from Nvidia, which will enable robots to carry out perception, mapping, and decision-making on board. Compatibility with both humanoid and quadruped robots-including some from Unitree’s lineup, such as the G1 and Go2-speaks to a hardware-agnostic design philosophy, one that echoes OpenMind’s larger OM1 operating system initiative: abstracting hardware differences to provide a common layer of autonomy across robot types. OM1 fuses perception, foundation models, memory, and contextual understanding to let robots perceive their surroundings, comprehend natural language, and make decisions in real time-capabilities leveraged by BrainPack in its effort to create embodied AI for the physical world.
