Re: hope that the range improves in then next year of two.

How much range do you need? I can’t out drive my bladder. I stop for lunch on long drives. San Francisco to Los Angeles is only two stops to charge. Unlike an ICE car, you don’t recharge to full. It isn’t necessary and full charges do take longer. In the route plan below, from SFO to LAX, there’s only two supercharger stops: first one is for 12 minutes and the second is for 21. In reality I’d have lunch at that 12 minute stop and let the car charge for 30+ minutes. I’d likely skip the second recharge. But that’s a seven hour drive. I’m going to stop more than twice anyway, just due to biological limitations.

My 2023 Rivian has a 315 mile range. There are EVs now with 500 mile ranges. Those cars can drive SF to LA nonstop, but I can’t. After owning and driving an EV I now understand that max range is unnecessary. At a certain point other constraints enter the equation.
