I was once in a stock called THQI (ToyH), they sell video games. Stock used to trade between 5 and 9, then they got profitable and actually DROPPED TO as low as 3. They slowly crawled back up, but the point is they traded as a profitable company for a year at levels at or BELOW when they were losing money. Go figure.

After many quarters of sustained profitability, the stock went from 6 to 12, far exceeding my requirements, I got out. That was late summer 97. It is now trading in the upper 20s. Must have been those last couple of quarters of profitability that did it.

Things like that happen all the time. Who knows, once AOL starts MAKING real money, it may get hammered.

No predictions here, just some historical. As jan-mike said, last year's stuff has hurt the ability to move the price.
