Based on recent analysis from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russia's campaign to seize the remainder of the Ukrainian-held Donetsk Oblast would likely take at least two to three years of arduous battles, not months or weeks.

Assuming a constant (foot-pace) rate of advance and no major Ukrainian reversals, Russian forces could potentially seize the entire remaining oblast by August 2027.

Russia's economy will be completely toast and its people in open revolt long before then, IMO.
