OK. Let's ignore the battery replacement even though it's going to matter down the road.

Address the additional $12-$15,000 in selling price of the vehicle compared to a similar vehicle.

$12,000/$3.00 gal gas = 4000 gallons of gas.
4000 gallons X 30 mpg = 120,000 miles before breakeven.

Use whatever numbers you want for mpg and gas cost and you still come out the loser.

Sorry little buddy but it just won't fly for most of the continental USA.
