And of course we face the same problem here in the US and Canada, along with the disappearance of the spring snow melt that currently replenishes so many of our rivers and lakes. There will be problems across the Canadian Prairie provinces when this water supply diminishes or disappears, but the greatest effects will be felt in the SW US. It's hard to see how cities like Las Vegas and Phoenix will be able to continue to exist, and there will be knock on effects in San Diego and Los Angeles, among other California cities.
