If you or family members have prescriptions, there are some options out that are competitive with insurance:

1. Cost Plus Pharmacy - This is Mark Cuban's venture that sells prescriptions at a 15% markup, a $5.00 handling charge, plus $5.00 shipping. Lots of prescriptions run $1.50 plus the $5 and $5.

2. GoodRX - This has been around for maybe a decade or so. You go online, get a coupon code from them, and then apply it at your pharmacy. Usually pharmacies like CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart are the best priced.

3. Amazon Pharmacy - They are more expensive than Cost Plus Pharmacy, but their offerings are broader, as Cost Plus currently only offers 600 prescription brands. You also get 1-2 day free shipping with a Prime membership.

In our family, we all have high deductible health insurance policies, so options like these make sense if we need a prescription (which is rare for my wife and kids, like almost never).
