A few things in that story don't make much sense, for example the claimed size of the machine. The only way it would be that much larger is if for example they were using a cyclotron or something like that as a light source, in which case the light source by itself could be very large, but the rest of the machine is going to be similar in size. They clearly aren't making optics 10x larger or the wafer stepper stage 10x larger, etc.

I do believe the claims that they are using lots of parts off ASML DUV systems. Like the entire wafer handling/stepper system. I'm actually very astonished that ASML has built mechanical systems with nm positioning accuracy AND with settling times as fast as they are at that precision. I'm sure the Chinese are doing a Copy Exact exercise on those elements.
