You knock with your backhanded compliment in that sentence.
How's that? I'm not knocking the guy.

I said, "he was a substantial mid-tier actor & filmmaker."

He was not a Scorsese, Spielberg, Coppola, the Coen Bros., or operating at that level. However, he was in a category just below that which includes people like Ron Howard, Tim Burton, certainly Reiner qualifies in that category (at least for Few Good Men and Harry/Sally).

Let's not be hypersensitive. He was a horrible person for his free floating Trump hatred, however. Different thing.
