Even if his reasons for action may not be justified by more current information, he'll go through with it. This is another US war like the wars in Iraq, Libya, and Ukraine where they hoped someone else would pay for the costs after it was all done with the added benefit of seizing the gold reserves and forcing all transactions through the New York Federal Reserve to preserve dollar hegemony. Seizing Venezuela's oil is a much longer term strategy as Trump has shut down alternative energy projects as a favor to the oil and gas industry.
