Enough already!

Luckyron and others, we know you don't like E*TRADE. But, statements like "Too bad they won't spend more $$ for servers" are just plain wrong.

I just read an interesting article about E*TRADE in Internet Week (a trade mag). First of all, they run Digital Alpha servers (the fastest around my friend). Second, they have six ISP's that feed multiple lines to each of their 2 data centers. Lastly, in April they will go live with a new site called Destination E*TRADE that will have a much improved interface and allow faster transactions and more users.

E*TRADE has state of the art systems and they are constantly improving them. They are swamped at times b/c they are growing so fast and have more users than the competition! A good thing for the stock IMO. Customer service isn't great, but is improving too. You have to keep in mind that problems you have accessing their site can also have nothing to do with them, but the Internet and congestion.

I have used them for 3 years or so and have about 10 friends who use them (recommended by me). Overall, I am very pleased with the service they provide. I have never had any major problems and have not received any complaints from my friends. I'm not denying your problems or attacking you personally, I just get tired of only reading the negative experiences. The people who have the problems are always the loud ones. There are plenty of people who like the service and are pleased with it.
