Prominently displayed in the paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein’s £60 million Manhattan townhouse was an oil painting showing the former American president Bill Clinton, wearing a dress and high heels, pointing at the viewer.
The bizarre artwork lampooning Clinton, wearing Monica Lewinsky’s famous blue dress, was revealed in 2019 soon after Epstein’s prison suicide. Among the wild conspiracy theories generated by the disgraced mogul’s sudden death, the idea that Clinton and his wife Hillary had Epstein killed was among the most common, retweeted by their former friend Donald Trump among many others.
Last week a cache of newly unsealed court documents related to Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell prompted renewed fascination about the tycoon’s connections to the rich and famous; none more so than his mysterious relationship with the former president.

Clinton’s name had appeared more than 80 times in the 1,200-plus pages of documents released by Friday afternoon, with more due to come. There has been no evidence of wrongdoing but, as with Prince Andrew, the stink of association with Epstein has yet again attached itself to the 42nd president of the United States, the questions raised by their friendship posed once more.
It is unclear when Epstein first met Clinton, but during his first term as president he welcomed Epstein to the White House at least 17 times, including one visit when the financier and Maxwell were photographed at a reception by the White House Historical Association after he had donated $10,000.
