I suspect the housing number to be favorable to inflation going forward for a couple of reasons;

First is that whatever you think of sending immigrants out of the country by ICE, each breadwinner that leaves will leave behind an empty house - goes to supply vrs. demand. The very low numbers of allowed immigrants under trump will also contribute to this. The second reason is affordability in a sputtering economy. I suspect that deflationary numbers in housing may be the norm before long.

HOWEVER! That doesn't mean inflation is under control at all. The unaffordability of housing is a result in steep increases in electricity cost (think AI) and insurance cost (think fires). Add to that the huge increases in health care cost and suddenly we have the worst possible scenario.
