I just tried to buy 5,000 shares of GAUZ through Schwab and got this message: Order Messages 1. Opening transactions for this security must be placed with a broker. Contact us Talked to a supervisor and the stock is on a list of restricted securities where all buy orders must be placed through a broker. I get why GAUZ would be on this list with the recent volatility and the lawsuit, but to have to call a broker and sit on hold for 10 minutes to buy a stock is crazy, especially when the bid/ask changes frequently. They said it's for my own protection (yeah right) and can't make any exception for me to be able to buy it online. Is anyone else having this problem? This would be my first purchase of GAUZ so I don't know how long this has been on a "restricted" list. I'm guessing it happened sometime in the last month. I know some of you on this board have purchased GAUZ, so that's why I'm asking about it on this forum.
