There is life after capitulation / surrender. There is nothing after dying for a lost cause, because it is a lost cause.

You can make a case that sending people to their death knowing they are dying in vain, that the cause is lost, there is a case to call it murder.

But I don't think it is a clear case - in terms of military officers or leaders of the country, such as Zelensky, in sending their people to death. I don't think the case is clear that Zelensky is in fact committing murder.

He is just gambling with those lives, gambling on an outcome that has near zero percent probability of coming true. But he can claim to be stupid, that he is an actor, that he does not understand probabilities.
